Wilmer Jennings Gallery at Kenkeleba: Upcoming Visions 1020

Kenkeleba House and the Wilmer Jennings Gallery will be exhibiting work curated by Beuford Smith from March 8th until May 2nd, 2020. There will also be a reception on Sunday March 8th, 2020 from 3 to 6 p.m. and a panel discussion on Saturday March 28th, 2020 from 3 to 6 p.m.

Last weekend, the Visions 1020 exhibition hosted their opening reception at the Kenkeleba House and Wilmer Jennings Gallery. The display, curated by Beuford Smith, showcased work by Shawn Walker, Adger Cowans, and Anthony Barboza in addition to 40 other artists included in the exhibition. A celebration of photography, the reception brought together live music, food, and new and old friends to celebrate the invaluable work of these artists.

VMFA: Photographs by Louis Draper and the Kamoinge Workshop Now on Display!

Photographer, Shawn Walker, attended the opening of “Working Together: Louis Draper and the Kamoinge Workshop” along with other Kamoinge members to speak on their experiences within the group and growing up in Harlem during the 1960s and ‘70s. This exhibition will be on display at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts from February 1 until June 14, 2020.
